NOVA reagiert auf Musik und Besucher erzeugen mittels eines QR-Codes virtuelle Feuerwerke auf NOVA.

Für die Passanten des Hauptbahnhofes Zürich trat aus Anlass des 5-jährigen Bestehens der NOVA das SBB-Blasorchesters auf. 50 Musiker haben Werke aus unterschiedlichen Zeiten und Epochen aufgeführt, welche zeitgleich auf der NOVA visuell abgebildet wurden.

Als zusätzliche Attraktion konnten die Besucher mittels eines QR-Codes auf einer Postkarte in den Pausen selber virtuelle Feuerwerk und Funkenregen auf der NOVA entfachen und so der NOVA zu ihrem Geburtstag gratulieren.

Damit wurde der QR-Code als Schlüssel zur Interaktion mit NOVA lanciert; dieser ersten Applikation werden im Verlaufe des Jubiläumsjahres weitere folgen.

After the great exhibition in Munich at "Haus der Kunst" (check the gallery), NOVA Baby was shipped to Vienna to take part at the media architecture biennale 2010. The installation "Cheminée" was shown in the exhibition and visitors were encouraged to interact with it using a bellows. Biennale is over and we are looking forwared to the next, the exhibition with a lot of different media facades presented will be on until 31. of october. www.mediaarchitecture.org/biennale2010

In the main train station “Life Science Zurich”, a joint initiative by ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and UZH (University of Zurich), participated with an exhibition explaining the principles of Darwin’s theory to the public at the occasion of Darwin’s 200st birthday.

NOVA was also included in the exhibit to run real-time experiments as they are used to study evolutionary game theory which is a special field in social science focusing on the evolution of social behavior. Christian Hauert (University of British Columbia, Vancouver) has created the mathematical framework to study the long-term impact of cooperative versus uncooperative behavior of individuals and groups which determines the survival of an entire population. These algorithms have been transformed by Chandrasekhar Ramakrishnan of ETH Zurich to make them available as interactive applications on the NOVA terminal, where the audience can play some of the experiments themselves.

In the wonderful space of Ormeau Baths Gallery, a gallery for contemporary art in Belfast, "The Stealth Project" by squidsoup is shown as part of ISEA 2009. Stealth is a game, where two players compete against each other by shooting missiles accross the 3d space. Missiles may be destroyed by the radar or by enemy fire. The players control the game with two monomes (64 led buttons interface). The exhibition will be on until 30th of august.

For the 5th anniversary celebrations of swissnex Singapore, NOVA was installed in the Equinox space of Swissôtel. Music performed by Karen Undritz and Junyan Natasha Liu was visualized in real time according to the level and frequencies of the sound.
